Loreen first became a prominent figure among dance music fans when she won the much celebrated Eurovision competition in 2012 with her song “Euphoria.” Later that year, she released her debut album “Heal” to much acclaim, followed up by a re-release in 2013 that featured the new song “We Got the Power,” which she entered 2013’s Eurovision with, unfortunately without a win. After teasing tracks such as “Jupiter Drive” and “Garbage” live, Loreen went on to release two new singles from her sophomore album, also slated at the time to be titled “Jupiter Drive.” However, it seems the album was scrapped although the two singles, “Higher (Paper Light)” and “I’m In It With You” were quite fantastic. Now that it’s 2017, Loreen has returned and is ready to usher in her much anticipated sophomore album. Earlier this year, Loreen released “Statements,” a rock induced dance banger for Melodifestivalen, the competition in which Sweden picks their entry for Eurovision (although Loreen unfortunately lost).
On July 14th, Loreen gave her fans the official first taste of her forthcoming album “Nude” with the sleek, sensual dance number “Body.” Loreen’s music has become know for her show off of her powerhouse vocals, however, “Body” is quite the opposite in that she has opted to tone down her vocals and let the club ready beats speak for themselves. Club goers and trance fans alike should ready their moves as Loreen states “it’s written on your body,” both a statement to her lover and a command to hit the dance floor. Long time fans of Loreen I’ll be quite pleased with “Body” as it showcases a more toned down side of her that still makes you want to get up on your feet.
